This method involves making a series of sharp, short twitches in quick succession to produce strong vibrations while keeping the lure’s travel distance to an absolute minimum. The idea is to mimic a creature thrashing about in panic yet unable to get away, flipping the bass’s predatory instincts into full attack mode.

However, the strong rod work required for this “escape action” inevitably creates line noise cutting through the water and unwanted vibrations—things that increasingly make fish wary, giving rise to bass that are now “wise to the escape.”

To overcome this challenge, the Peller 3.5" was developed around the concept of “seductively writhing and shimmering” completely on its own—without the need for constant rod action—enticing even bass that are cautious of line presence and sound.

The biggest feature is its ultra-thin body and parts, refined to the extreme so that even the slightest line tension or faint water current triggers a lifelike, lingering action, full of vitality, even when left still. Naturally, it also responds instantly to deliberate shaking or other rod work, engaging both body and parts in a rippling, seductive movement.

In addition, by positioning 1Way Hybrid-inspired wings toward the front and adding a twisting crawl action, each side’s parts can ripple independently, creating an even more complex wave-like motion. This makes the lure automatically writhe and draw strikes during free fall or swimming retrieves.

The resistance created by the front wings acts as a natural brake, keeping lure travel to a minimum, allowing it to fully support the still-effective “escape action” method.

Recommended rigs include drop shot, jig head, and hover shot setups, as well as a wide variety of light rigs. Its full compatibility with offset hooks means it can adapt to everything from open water to light cover conditions.
